I completely understand that seeking counselling or coaching can be daunting, especially if you’ve never done this before. I’ve been there myself.
So I hope the information below will give you a better idea of my style and what to expect.
I provide a safe, confidential, non-judgemental space for you to fully explore your problems and find ways to create a better life for yourself.
I use a mixture of Counselling and Coaching skills tailored to each individual person that I see.
The general pattern that most clients find helpful is to initially spend some time exploring and understanding the underlying issues and their root causes (the “counselling” part), before moving on to identify practical ways to make positive changes (the “coaching” part).
This process shares some similarities with building or renovating a home: it’s important to first make sure that the foundations are solid and secure before building or re-modelling the house. A house without foundations will quickly crumble; and foundations without a house have no purpose.
However, you may prefer to stick to more therapeutic, traditional counselling sessions. Or you may wish to jump straight into coaching if you have a particular goal you want to achieve. I’m happy to work in whichever way best helps you.
Sessions last 50 minutes and are usually at the same time each week.
I always try and help my clients in as few sessions as possible, rather than having an endless series of sessions.
